Frustrating and annoying at every turn
I don't think I've ever hated software as much as I hate Corel Paintshop Photo Pro. It has so many annoying and frustrating problems.
And their obsession with running unauthorized copy protecting spyware 24x7 just makes life difficult for licensed users. It's not stopping the pirates.
By the way, I have a lot of experience with personal computer software. I've provided technical support, and I use a lot of software, including far more complicated programs (like Photoshop).
Don't buy this.

Do Not Buy! Do Not Purchase!
Attempted product use: Web-design and photo editing
This program crashes more than TWA. Even if your a frequent saver there is still a possibility that you won't be able to start exactly where you left off. An unreliable program is a problem. On top of that there are an abundance of glitches with the software. Your marker tends to have a mind of its own by selecting options you didn't assign and figuring out what they are and undoing them is even more annoying. Jasc paintshops were much more stable programs it's a shame that Corel can't duplicate the same quality and reliability that Jasc offered. Because of this program and its random errors and crashes it has cost me a lot more trouble than it's worth. I can't recommend this product to anyone except for maybe someone that I hate. Please stay clear of this flawed product unless you desire to torture yourself.
1/5 stars because Amazon won't allow you to select Zero. If it doesn't say Jasc it's just a failed imitation living on the glory of yester year. Updated programs are supposed to be better right? ....right? How can they make a program that's inferior to MS-paint?

Probably a little too much for a non-power user
This was probably too big of a jump for me to make from PaintShopPro 6 to X3. While I never did maximize my use of the product (I'm a writer, not a graphic designer), I think that this just has way too many things for my needs. WITH THAT SAID, I am still giving this 5 stars because I do think it's easier to use than PhotoShop. If you're a PaintShopPro power user, this is absolutely going to be a nice upgrade for you. 2010-07-22

Returning Today.
This software was delivered Saturday, July 17th, I just printed out my return lable this morning July 20th.
I have spent hours trying to install this software. I have been a computer user since about 1980, so I know my way around a computer and have installed many software packages and have maintained my own computers for ten years. So I am not without computerknowledge.
This software will not install for me. I had a a trail version that I had removed sometime back, but the full version says I still have to uninstall the previous version of x3. I downloaded the Corel software to uninstall the trial version, no luck. So I went into forums to get more info. I found a three page instruction on how to completly uninstall the trial version. I can only get about halfway through those instructions because they do not work either.
This is the first return I have ever done on Amazon. I have been buying from Amazon for many years.
Of course I will only get fifty percent back and have to pay shipping too. Pay attention to the one star ratings on this software and DO NOT BUY.
By the way I have been using Paint Shop Pro for several years and liked it, but now I am done for good.
I am not new to photo editing, you can see my work at [...]

Lots of good features, but extraordinarily slow
The computer I installed this software on was a Gateway desktop, running Windows Vista. The first thing that I noticed is that when I start the program, it seems to take *forever* for it to load. I have never seen anything like it before!
After that, I found the software to be quite good. I loaded some pictures and manipulated them, and the program seemed to do a good job. On the whole, I found it to be a little to complex for the casual user, such as myself. It is surprisingly slow, which I presume is because of the many features that the software has.
So, for me I thought that this was an OK software package, with lots of good features, but extraordinarily slow.
