SanDisk Cruzer Micro 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ6-016G-A11

I apologize for venting my frustration and have learned to stay away from sandisk usb-related memory. XP device did recognize it and now no longer. Sandisk community forum was conveniently closed for maintenance ~ hint: it's been closed for at least a week. Thus, lousy and time-consuming effort in getting it working; and I was not able to. In the trash as all Sandisk USB-type should be. Now to Kingston ~ I've one 2gb that has been beaten up and still works well.

It has the storage space i wanted for a very nice and forgiving price. My only complaints are the write speed is extremely slow and that when the usb connector is out and you go to plug it in, it slides back in preventing you from plugging it in, but you can hold the slider then plug it and it works.

I purchase this 16gb flash drive, for my ps3 to backup my save files, when i got it i put it right in my ps3 usb port and it read it no problem, i am very happy with this purchase

Really like this for the added storage, I like the retractable feature on it also

I have never had any significant issues with flash drives before. When I bought this flash drive earlier this year I liked how it attached to my keychain and I was impressed with the memory capacity for the price. I had no issues with my purchase until this past weekend. I was trying to copy some pictures from my laptop to the flash drive to give to some relatives who were visiting and I kept getting access errors from the flash drive. Finally after a few tries I was able to get it to read. I was worried because I had so many valuable files stored on the drive so I went ahead and copied them all to my computer to make sure I didn't lose any.

Fast forward to today. I was looking for some of the information I had copied from the flash drive. I went to the folder I had copied the info too and everything was GONE!!! The folder structure was there, but everything in the folders was GONE!!! Everything!!! I had pictures, personal budgets, lists I had kept for years of various things and they are all gone.

Yes, I know I should have a proper backup plan, but regardless this device failed catastrophically and I am very disappointed. I would be very apprehensive about buying this product. My situation may be 1 in 1,000 but you may also lose all your data.
