Spring too weak to hold the muslin.
I am returning this item for two reasons.
First, the spring in each clamp is too weak to hold the muslin, which immediately slips out of the clamp when you take your hand away.
Second, I am using a background frame that has three telescoping tubes. These clamps fit around the topmost (skinniest) tube, but they do not fit around the others.
Do yourself a favor. Spend a little more and buy a set of heavy-duty professional clamps, also available through Amazon.

as is
No problems, just like the one's you buy in the store, but at the same price. These did not break for me when clamping one inch magnets together and other stuff, but however if it has those extra tiny red minute holder thingys on both tips of the clamps teeth that is supposedly designed to help hold in place, these sure always do break, but works and holds as fine just without them (even when broken off) as if they never existed, and I don't see any significance WHY they make them like this. 2010-04-27

Cheap build or dry rot?
I've only bought 1 set of 6 clamps so far and at first glance, I would say they're strong and of good build. However, 1 of mine actually broke in two and flew across the room the very first time I tried using it.
Upon close inspection, it turns out that the joints that hold the spring in place are poorly built, in my opinion. The plastic was either just cheap and bound to fail or it was dry rotting as the first time being used shouldn't have yielded failure.
Other than that, the cost of the item isn't bad and the others did seem to hold up.
I do find myself checking the joints though. I can just see this flying off and hitting a client. LAWSUIT

Muslin Clamps Too Small For Green Screen Poles
These muslin clamps have a reasonably strong spring and they clamp well onto things. Unfortunately, they aren't big enough to fit around a standard-sized tripod pole that holds up the green screen. Also, after only one use, one of the orange pads came off and the center metal pin hinge point came out of one of the clamps, which rendered it unusable (I lost the metal pin in the carpet).
But the clamps are inexpensive and they should clamp well stuff of the right size.

Cheap plastic clamps
These are cheap made in China clamps that fell apart during the first use. Save your money and buy a different set of clamps. 2010-04-16
