Great Small Camcorder
I love this little camcorder! It is so easy to take anywhere because of it's small size, yet the picture quality is amazing! The colors are vivid whether the pictures are taken indoors or outdoors. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it picks up the audio sounds around. Be careful of what you're saying when you video....it will pick it up! My only complaint right now is that I am having trouble getting it set up on my computer. There is one component that is not downloading, but I think it is my fault as I blocked some of it because I got a warning that it did not have a signature and I guess the part that I blocked was pretty important. I am planning on removing it completely from my computer and then try downloading it again. The camcorder records 120 minutes of video before it fills up and that's a lot compared to others. I compared a lot of cameras, including the next generation of this one, and felt like this was the best for me. I have not been disappointed at all. 2010-07-19

BEWARE!!!
This camera was a nightmare out of the box.
The software never worked on my computer (OS 10.6.4) and crashed every time the camera was connected. The included battery pack would not charge even though I had it connected to a high powered USB 2.0 port. About a third of the time, the camera wouldn't even mount to the desktop.
The tech support is HORRIBLE. After jumping through all their hoops and loops for several days (which included - for some reason - leaving the brand new camera on my shelf unused for three days), I finally gave up on this camera that never worked right out of the box. I tried everything to get this little bugger to work with no luck.
Aside from that, I did actually get to shoot a couple of short videos. The first in bright sunlight had decent quality, while the second, in slightly dimmed room, was pretty much unviewable.
I'd suggest you get what you pay for with this product, but I don't think that is even close to true, despite its' low price. You'd be better off with no camera at all...

Nice recorder but charging batteries is a problem.
I have owned this for months now and I use it for a dash cam. It works great and one battery will last about 4 or 5 20 minute recordings. Regular AA batteries only lasted half that long. It's easy to use and records great. There is only one issue, charging the batteries. Everytime I plug it in my car to charge the battery it starts charging, then later it stops and shows on the screen that it is hot and paused charging. It charges fine in the winter time when the car is cold, *****so now I place a towel on an icepack and lay the recorder face down on the towel so it stays cold while charging and it charges fully everytime. Just dont lay the lens on the cold part because moisture will build up under the lens. 2010-07-19

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got the Flip ultraHD to replace my Flip mino (not the HD one). I also had the Kodak Playsport. First let me say I love the Flip ultraHD. It is the best video camera in this price range. It is a little better than the playsport. Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
- good image quality
-easy to use
-long memory
-small
Cons:
-NONE

Great little camera for the price range
I've been using my Flip HD during my summer vacation and I really love having it around. It's small enough to carry in my pocket, has surprisingly good picture and sound, and stores the video in a format that I can immediately use on my computer. (My previous digital camera, by contrast, records video in an odd format that many computers seem unable to read, and the digital camcorder I have used for school projects requires a laborious import process that takes over an hour.) The Flip software works very well on my Mac and makes uploading to YouTube dead simple. For the person who wants to be able to record snippets of life and personal adventures and then share them with other people, this is the perfect tool for the job. I can definitely see myself using it in the classroom, as well. 2010-07-17
